new testament Plan of salvation according TO THE bible
Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
Repentence of past works
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Acknowledge your sins and ask Jesus for forgiveness. No one is good except God! We all need his mercy and grace! Lay your life down at the altar, your sins, your past, and give it to Jesus. Dying to your old self. And with willing heart to change. As Jesus died on the cross for our sins so should our sinful ways die at an altar for him!
Baptism in Jesus name
Acts 19:5 “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Romans 6:3-4 “Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Baptized, fully submerged in the water, buried in baptism. You need to bury your old life and wash away your past sins. Washed clean white as snow! Ready for a new start! Just like Jesus taking our sins to the grave!
infillng of the Holy ghost
Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and spake with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
After you’ve died at the altar of repentance, been washed clean and buried in baptism, you must be born again! New Life! God promised us the gift of the Holy Ghost if we would follow his plan!
John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Holy Ghost is essential to salvation! What’s the point of dying at an altar and burying your sins in baptism, if your going to stay in the grave? Jesus died and rose again that we might live again! He is our perfect example and has shown us the way to be saved by his life here on earth!
Holiness lifestyle
Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
God reaches down into our lowest sinful points, loves us when no one else does and calls us his children. But he doesn’t save you to keep you in that place! He wants to bring you out of those low sinful points and set you on the mountain top! There isn’t a once saved always saved. We can choose to walk away from God, he will never leave us nor forsake us, but sometimes we do leave and forsake Jesus. He is waiting with forgiveness and grace to welcome us with open arms! But we have to go to him.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
